 The Crowne Plaza Downtown Kansas City is looking for a Director of Human Resources committed to recruiting top talent and directing/managing all aspects of HR in a manner that retains team members long-term, cultivates a positive and fun team culture and builds our employer brand.

The Crowne Plaza is ideally located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, close to world class dining, live music and entertainment at the Power & Light District.  Our newly renovated property offers 385 guest rooms, a newly branded restaurant'The Raid Bar & Bites, a Starbucks Coffee shop in the lobby and stunning views of historic downtown Kansas City. 

Come join our team as Director of Human Resources and several of your key responsibilities, to name just a few, will be the following:

  • Oversee and administer the HR function such as recruiting, onboarding, team member relations, training and development, workers compensation and safety, and wage/benefit administration while ensuring compliance in all aspects of HR.
  • Promote a positive and fun team culture while also reinforcing the hotel's effort to deliver outstanding guest service that is unique and brings the brand to life.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the General Manager and management team on all people-related issues.
  • Implement and administer employment policies and programs related to the management of all team members.

The Crowne Plaza is part of The Hotel Group portfolio, an established hotel company since 1984, operating approximately 15 unique hotels with opportunities for career growth and advancement.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Minimum of 7 years Human Resources experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of the recruiting process
  • Professional HR designation preferred (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PHR or other)
